In order to save a world ruled by a bloodthirsty dictator, one man must become the galaxy’s deadliest terrorist.
Xing Ming Lee was a botanist on Earth who lived a peaceful and bountiful life. Ophridia, informally known as the “China Planet” was discovered by chinese astronomers and was seen as a solution to the country’s overpopulation problem. Lee, along with millions of other Chinese natives, were uprooted and sent to the dark, cloud-clad world where the sun never touches the ground to work in the coal mines. Ophridia’s ruler, Yiu Mei has held the planet in the grip of his hand for almost a decade, having seceded from the Core, and utilized her wealth to keep the Core out of his affairs. He also instigated a program known as the Xiongbu, or “the terror” in order to keep his rule absolute.
However, tragedy strikes and Lee finds himself a victim of the Xiongbu, having been named a traitor by an unknown source. He manages to escape into the barren wilderness, where he has a vision: he must unleash his own form of terror upon Yiu Mei and overthrow the insidious tyrant.
Xing Ming Lee returns to the sprawling city, only to find that Yiu Mei’s grip has tightened. He must work quickly to recruit, train and gather a following so that he can disappear into the populace at will. As Lee’s cause for resistance swallows the planet, he descends deeper into the darkness, and discovers just how far he must go to destroy a tyrannical government.
This explosive, action-packed and haunting story was written in the spirit of Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Identity and Joseph Conrad’s The Secret Agent.
